Fishing

Podgorica and its surrounding area have a very rich potential for water sports and have always been a fisherman’s paradise. Bearing in mind that Podgorica has six rivers and three lakes in its surrounding, diversity of fish species: chub, trout, eel, bleak, grayling and sneep makes this region a perfect location for fishing.

Podgorica is known for its large number of sport clubs and organisations, but also for its talented athletes, known worldwide. It is in the nature of people from this region to like and practice sports so much that everyone says that the people of Podgorica cultivate a cult of athletic bodies and good looks.

Tennis

Playing tennis in Montenegro dates from the end of the last century. The first tennis match in Montenegro took place in 1894 in Cetinje, and its main participant was the king of Montenegro, Nikola Petrovic, dressed in traditional national costume. This sport is very popular in Podgorica.
